During the Road World Championships in Kigali (Rwanda), the Union Européenne de Cyclisme and Golazo, a Belgian company of international renown in the management and co-ordination of sporting events, yesterday signed an important agreement for the awarding of a series of European Championships in the next few years.
The agreement stipulates that Golazo as the UEC’s technical and organisational partner, will be involved in the staging of the following events:
- UEC Road European Championships: 2031 and 2032
- UEC Cyclo-Cross European Championships: from 2027 to 2032
- UEC Gravel European Championships: from 2029 to 2032
- UEC Granfondo European Championships: from 2026 to 2032
Thanks to this multi-year agreement, the UEC will strengthen its growth trajectory, ensuring continuity and a high level of quality in disciplines that are constantly evolving, both in terms of participation and international visibility.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: “This agreement represents a fundamental step forward for the development of European cycling. Collaborating with Golazo, one of the most important international players in the field of sports event co-ordination, guarantees our European Championships a first-rate level of organisation and solid, sustainable growth prospects. I would like to thank Golazo's CEO, Bob Verbeeck, for his trust and the shared vision that will guide us on this journey. Together, we will make our events even more exciting and attractive for athletes, teams, federations and fans alike.”
Bob Verbeeck, Golazo’s CEO: We are honored to support the UEC in the coming years to help make the European Championships even stronger. The fact that it involves all four disciplines makes it even more interesting and confirms the strength of our approach across all areas of cycling. Together with the UEC, we aim to inspire all of Europe with top-level championships. I especially want to thank UEC president Enrico Della Casa for his initiative to take these important steps forward.
