BERLIN WILL HOST THE 2027 UEC TRACK ELITE EURO CHAMPS

The Union Européenne de Cyclisme (UEC) is pleased to announce that the 2027 UEC Track Elite European Championships have been awarded to Berlin (Germany).

The event, awarded yesterday by the UEC Management Board, will take place from 10 to 14 February 2027 at the historic velodrome in the German capital, one of the most prestigious and iconic venues in international Track cycling.

The continental event will bring together Europe’s finest Track specialists in what promises to be one of the season’s most important fixtures. The 2027 edition will be even more spectacular thanks to the inclusion of the Derny and Stayer events, fascinating disciplines steeped in tradition that continue to attract keen interest from the public and enthusiasts alike.

Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: “Berlin holds an important place in the history of Track cycling. Its velodrome is a venue steeped in tradition which, over the years, has hosted World Championships, European Championships and numerous top-level international events.

The UEC Track Elite European Championships are now a key fixture on the international calendar, and the 2027 edition promises to be even more exciting thanks to the inclusion of the Derny and Stayer events, two spectacular and particularly thrilling disciplines.

The event will be of even greater significance as it forms part of the Olympic qualifiers for Los Angeles 2028, making it a must-see for athletes, teams, fans and all broadcasters following it live on television.

We are confident that Berlin will put on a fantastic show for the entire European Track cycling community.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the City of Berlin, Iris Spranger, Senator for Sport, German Cycling and its President Bernd Dankowski, the President of the German Cycling Berlin Cycling Association Claudiu Ciurea and the Organising Committee, which has already demonstrated great organisational ability in staging major international events in the past.”

Iris Spranger, Senator for the Interior and Sport: “The awarding of the 2027 UEC Track Elite European Championships to Berlin is a great honour.

It emphasises the expertise and charisma of our international capital of sport. The decision is also a very positive sign for our bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

As one of the most renowned cycling arenas, Berlin‘s Velodrom, provide the perfect stage for Europe’s top athletes on their journey to the 2028 Olympic Games.

In German Cycling, the Berlin Cycling Association and the Union Européenne de Cyclisme, we have very strong and experienced partners to ensure a successful event. Berlin will once again demonstrate that we can host major sporting events at the highest level – professionally, with dedication and with a unique flair.”

Bernd Dankowski, German Cycling President: “The award of the 2027 UEC Track Elite European Championships to Berlin is great news for track cycling in Germany.
