JEANJEAN AND MICULYČOVÁ BMX FREESTYLE PARK EUROPEAN CHAMPS

Iveta Miculyčová (Czech Republic) and Anthony Jeanjean (France) are the new BMX Freestyle Park European Champions, a spectacular discipline which made its entrance last year on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games programme.

The event took place in Munich (Germany) as part of the multi-sport European Championships, sports championships where nine sports are being organised in the German city.

The stunning setting of the Olympic Park was the location of the temporary track where a total of 39 athletes from 14 countries competed against each other.

Following the exciting qualifying rounds of Thursday afternoon, the finals were very close.

In the Men’s events, the French rider Anthony Jeanjean won his third European title of the three editions raced so far. Jeanjean was the star of a great final and finished with 93.60 points beating Kielan Reilly (Great Britain), second with 92.10 points, and the Croat Marin Rantes (88.80 points).

At the end of the women’s final featuring the Olympic Champion Charlotte Worthington (Great Britain) who suffered some unfortunate crashes and the current European Champion, Swiss Nikita Ducarroz, Iveta Miculyčová won the title with 80 points after an excellent performance. The rider from the Czech Republic beat the German Kim Lea Muller, who earned 78.60 points, and the French rider Laury Perez who took the bronze medal with 78.20 points.
