SWISS REUSSER AND BISSEGGER NEW EUROPEAN ITT EURO CHAMPS

The 2022 European Championships taking place in Munich (Germany) are continuing in full swing. After the Track races, BMX Freestyle Park and Men’s Road race, today it was the turn of the Time-Trial races won by Marlen Reusser and Stefan Bissegger (Switzerland).

The current champion Marlen Reusser (Switzerland) achieved victory in the Women’s race riding 24 kilometres of a difficult circuit with the start and finish at Furstenfeldbruck in 30'59", five seconds less than the current World Champion, the Dutch rider Ellen van Dijk. Third place, in 27", for another Dutch rider, Riejanne Markus.

It is Marlen Reusser’s second consecutive European title in this speciality, after the one she achieved last year in Trento (Italy).

Swiss success also in the Men’s race with Stefan Bissegger who beat, by just one second, his compatriot Stefan Kung current European Champion. Bissegger raced the 24 kilometres of the circuit in 27'05" at an average speed of 53,169 km/h. The podium also included the current Italian World Champion, gold medallist in the Team Pursuit at Tokyo 2020, Filippo Ganna who finished in 27'14".

The Road European Championships in Munich will end on Sunday 21 August with the Women’s Road race and MTB Cross-Country will take place at the Olympic Park on Friday 19 (Men) and Saturday 20 (Women).
