At the continental event being held in Drôme-Ardèche (France) until 5 October, the UEC Management Board has officially awarded the 2026 UEC Road European Championships to Slovenia and its capital Ljubljana, which will become the centre of international cycling from 3 to 7 October 2026.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: “We received several high-quality bids, confirming the importance that the Road European Championships have now acquired on the international sporting scene. We chose Slovenia, a country that can no longer be considered emerging, but rather an established and leading force.
Today Sport and Cycling in Slovenia go hand in hand. It is a country that has always been very active in Off-Road Cycling and in recent years, has established itself at the highest level worldwide thanks to its champions who are capable of leading a constantly growing movement.
The 2026 UEC European Championships will be a major event, capable of attracting thousands of enthusiasts and showcasing a region that is extraordinary for its natural beauty and cultural richness.
I sincerely thank the Slovenian Cycling Federation and its President Pavel Marđonović for their commitment and vision, as well as the partners who made this bid possible.”
