#EUROTRACK20 JUN/U23, THE CITY OF FIORENZUOLA IS READY

We are in the middle of this unusual 2020 season and the Union Européenne de Cyclisme is preparing to experience six days of great cycling with the Juniors and Under 23 Track European Championships that will be held at the Attilio Pavesi velodrome in Fiorenzuola d’Arda (Italy) from 8 to 13 October.

321 riders (58 Women Juniors, 106 Men Juniors, 54 Women Under 23 and 103 Men Under 23) from 23 countries will compete in this continental event and 44 titles will be awarded.

Rocco Cattaneo, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: «2020 is certainly complicated but we have worked, right from the start of the health crisis, in close co-operation with the National Federations to guarantee that most of our events take place. The Championships that will be held in the historic velodrome of Fiorenzuola d’Arda are particularly important for cycling because they are the only international meeting for young people this season. The passionate and knowledgeable Italian public, will be able to watch high level technical races and we should not forget that the Juniors and Under 23 Track Championships have always been a launch pad for various riders who throughout their career have gone on to win World and Olympic titles.

I would like to thank the President of the Italian Cycling Federation, Renato Di Rocco who has always been willing and constantly supported us, the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Emilia-Romagna Tourist Promotion Agency, the Organising Committee and the City of Fiorenzuola d’Arda, which for more than 20 years has successfully hosted international Track races such as the Sei Giorni delle Rose.

I would also like to thank all the National Federations for their understanding and co-operation during this strange season.»

The Juniors and Under 23 Track European Championships in Fiorenzuola d’Arda will be live streamed every afternoon and evening on the website www.uec.ch.

In 2019, Germany was at the top of the Juniors and Under 23 Track European Championships medal table with thirteen gold medals, four silver and seven bronze, in front of Great Britain (7 gold medals, 5 silver and 2 bronze) and Russia (6 gold medals, 3 silver and 7 bronze).
